Thanks Kelly. We were given a great example in our session the other day. Two colleagues — one in the room and one joining via skype — who worked in the same neighbourhood but in different functions. They’d never heard of each other never mind met. Yet within minutes they started suggested different ways of working around commonly known problems.

Whether or not their solution would be any better is a moot point at this stage. But given that numerous people, higher paid than both of them, have failed to solve the problem over a number of years I’m willing to suggest they spend 20% of their time giving it a go.

As you say — very few of us do the maths on the cost of not doing things.
