Thanks Neil — you’re right. What people haven’t generally done is set a discipline about what’s done digitally and what’s done in real life meetings.

If you’ve answered “what are you working on” online — you don’t need to discuss it in a meeting. There’s a diminishing return to meetings and adding more people as it just increases the number of comms channels. Two people in one meeting can only talk to each other - there’s only a single comms path. Get up to 9 and 10 people involved and the growth is exponential.
